À propos de B2C Wood

Kevin, 31 years old, wood turner based in North Creuse in France,
creator name: B2C (Bois De Creuse)
After 6 years of studying graphic arts, I became an itinerant for 8 years during which I traveled and learned at the school of life.
It was in November 2022 that I had the opportunity to try the wood lathe for the first time. My neighbor lent me his to try, I immediately fell in love with this wonderful tool and so I bought my first wood lathe immediately to practice intensively.
Self-taught at heart, I locked myself away in my workshop for a few weeks exploring the world of woodturning and finally succeeded in creating my first turned objects (a walnut box, spinning tops and candlesticks). It was at this moment that I knew I wanted to continue and go further in the art of woodturning and carving.
I have been shooting for almost 2 years now, several dozen creations have seen the light of day since then and I am still as in love and passionate about the Wood Arts.
Today, I still explore and discover new techniques and methods every day to continue improving myself and, above all, to further my skills and knowledge. I have an eternal thirst for learning, a thirst to understand more and more things. For me, life is an eternal learning process.
Having a committed ecological conscience and a real desire not to participate in overconsumption and pollution in the world, I decided to start with the revaluation of wood. (Upcycling is a word that would describe my work in relation to the state of the wood that I use)
98% of my wood comes from within a 20km radius of my workshop in Creuse and is not from the wood industry. I collect a lot from individuals (old stocks in old barns, after storms, pruning and felling dead trees, but also from nature during my walks).
At the same time, all my finishes are natural, I only use products recognized as 100% suitable for food consumption on my creations (linseed oil, tung oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, citrus oil)
In my research into turning techniques and skills, I was lucky enough to recover some special woods that many turners would have put in the fire. In the spirit of learning, I tried to work them and was able to discover wonders in rotten woods, worn by time and climatic hazards.
This gave birth to my Vestige collection.
I will end this presentation by wishing everyone to find their passion in life as I was able to find mine and to be able to live it 100%.
